This scene was taken directly from my backyard in Bastrop, Texas. Many times when I noticed a sunset or sunrise in my backyard, I pulled out my pastels and a 9x11 piece of paper. I came up with many nice studies that were just intended to be studies. But every once in a while, a piece like this was good enough to become a finished professional piece. This was done with pastels on Strathmore pastel paper.
