This piece was inspired from a young tiger I observed at the San Antonio Zoo. He was perched on a rock “stalking” his brother. And when his brother walked by, the tiger jumped down and tackled him. It was very cute watching them play. I had done several sketches and taken many photos at the zoo and designed Jungle Tiger shortly after. Jungle Tiger is done mostly in watercolor with some pastel and colored pencil added. I added pastel over the orange watercolor to add softness and in order to make the tiger more opaque. Colored pencil was used to add detail to the eyes.
