Dark red wood frame with a couple of nicks, triple matted with green over purple over green
I remember coming across a photo of a wolf that had a purplish tint from the camera lens. I thought it an odd but beautiful color for a wolf. At the time I saw this photo, I was experimenting with bright colors. So I selected red pastel paper, various shades of purple Prismacolor colored pencils, and drew a purple wolf. Bright oranges and browns were used for the desert background while yellows and blues were used for the leaves in the foreground. The effects came out well.
This was the hardest picutre to frame. Purple, orange, and green is not an easy combination to come up with mat and frame colors for. But I did find the perfect fit. The art work is triple matted. It has a grass green top and bottom mat and a purple mat in-between and its frame is a red-stained wood. It is rather an odd combination of color, but so is the picture, so it's perfect!
