Every year I go to the Renaissance Festival. And every year at the festival I watch a show where they talk about and present wild birds. The birds are never presented long enough for me to get more than a simple sketch so I take several photographs instead. Even a good photograph is difficult to draw from, but one of my photos of a golden eagle came out beautifully. I was immediately inspired to draw this magnificent bird and started as soon as I got the picture developed. The finished piece is drawn with Nupastel on Art Spectrum Colourfix coated pastel paper.
